# Sample Content

The plugin ships a complete character setup that works as it is. Use it to check the plugin in a new project, or copy it as a starting point for your own inputs.

To see it, enable **Settings > Show Plugin Content** in the Content Browser and open `/ModularInputSystem/Input`.

### Tags

The sample config uses these tags, defined in the plugin's `Config/Tags/ModularInputSystemTags.ini`:

| Tag                         | Used for                       |
| --------------------------- | ------------------------------ |
| `ModularInput.Input.Move`   | Planar movement, 2D axis       |
| `ModularInput.Input.Look`   | Camera turn and pitch, 2D axis |
| `ModularInput.Input.Jump`   | Jump                           |
| `ModularInput.Input.Crouch` | Crouch                         |
| `ModularInput.Input.Sprint` | Sprint                         |

## Using It

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

## Add a Modular Input Component

Add a **Modular Input Component** to a Character Blueprint.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Configure the component

Set **Input Configs** to `DA_MIPS_SampleConfig` and **Default Mode** to `DA_MIPS_SampleMode`.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Press Play

Press Play.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="info" %}
The sample has no gamepad mappings. Add gamepad keys to a copy of `IMC_MIPS_Default` if you need them; for the right stick, turn on **Scale By Delta Time** on the Look processor, since stick rates are in degrees per second.
{% endhint %}

## Making It Your Own

Plugin content is replaced when the plugin is updated, so do not edit it in place:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

## Copy the assets

Copy the assets into your project's `Content` folder (select them, then right-click > **Duplicate**, or drag them with **Copy Here**).
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Rename and update tags

Rename the copies and, if you like, replace the `ModularInput.Input.*` tags with your own. Update the rows of the copied config and the filters of the copied mode's processors to match.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

## Point your component at the copies

Point your component at the copies.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}
